Cookie consent prompt

If you use certain third-party add-ons, these may set cookies that require consent in GDPR-participating countries.  These add-ons include:

  • Google Analytics
  • Facebook, X (Twitter) and Pinterest buttons
  • Facebook pixel embed code
  • MailChimp embedded pop-up

Activate the cookie consent prompt

You can set your site to use the cookie consent prompt in the admin section > Site settings > Template > Advanced > Site preferencesDisplay a cookie warning.

The cookie consent prompt will appear if you are using Google Analytics or one of the social media buttons from Facebook, X (Twitter) or Pinterest.

If you have JavaScript embed code, and are concerned that this may require a cookie consent prompt, please reach out to help@compendiummedia.com and we can help you integrate this.

How the cookie consent prompt works

You can set the cookie warning prompt to display When required, Never or Always in Site settings > Template > Advanced > Site preferences > Display a cookie warning.

Never
Visitors will never be asked for consent, and third-party scripts that you may have added to the site will run anyways.

When required
Visitors will be asked for their consent if their IP address is located within a GDPR participating country.  Third-party scripts run after consent is given.

Always
Visitors will always be asked for their consent.  Third-party scripts run after consent is given.
